4 out of 5 (4/5) The Runaways is a period piece from the 70's about the best girl band ever, featuring Cherie Currie, played by Dakota Fanning and Joan Jett, aptly played by Kristen Stewart. The film follows the birth of the Runaways from garage to international fame. Dakota does a very good job playing the somewhat drug crazed rock queen as Stewart does a formidable job playing the best female rocker ever, Joan Jett. Not much of a story here, but an enjoyable hour and a half. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to see Joan Jett in concert and let me tell you, there is none better. I LOVE ROCK N ROLL !!!!!
