6/10 Somewhat interesting storyline set in the 1300's during the bubonic plaque in England. Starring Sean Bean, Boromir of LOTR fame, plays a warrior sent by the bishop to find out why a village has been spared the plague. He sets out on his quest with a band of mercenaries and a young wayward priest. There are the usual sword, axe, and mace fights typical of medieval warfare, but nothing spectacular. This film has no monsters or special effects to speak of. When they arrive at the village, they find a witch (sorceress, necromonger), in charge, who seems to wield the power to revive the dead. There are some small subplots, but the film is nothing special. Acting was OK, cinematography OK, plot OK. Just OK, hence my 6 rating. Worth a rental if you're bored and like the versatile Sean Bean.
