Starring Reese Witherspoon (Sweet Home Alabama), Robert Pattinson (Twilight) and Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds), Water for Elephants is unexpectedly mediocre. Robert Pattinson (Jacob), a veterinary student who comes upon a traveling circus after abandoning his studies gives a very flat performance. Not to mention, his character is impossible to separate from his cold Edward Cullen in Twilight. Chrisoph Waltz as Witherspoon's husband, August, yet again pulls off a strangely likeable antagonist - abusive circus owner and animal trainer. The film revolves around these instances of abuse and the blooming romance that Witherspoon (Marlena) and Jacob nurture. The main attraction, Rosie the elephant is the highlight of the film and the source of much comedic relief. 5/10
