Post Network folders not showing up
Hi everyone -

I just downloaded the trial version. I have an extensive movie collection and am looking for a movie manager and from what I've messed around with, I like this one the best so far. I'd love to buy the full version but there are some issues I want to make sure can be solved first. I've got 2 issues so far which I'm hoping to get help with:

1.) I can't access my network folders despite clicking "options, general" and selecting the "show network drives" button. Nothing but my hard drives are showing up in the folder structure. In addition to the network drives not showing up, under my c:\\Win7 64bit directory are only 3 folders - a folder for "drivers", Movie Label Databases and a blank. Where are the rest and is there a way to get the network drives to show up?

2.) If there is no way to get around this and it forces me to disconnect one of my 2TB HDs and plug it into my PC and grab the movies from that directly (if a USB drive will show up) will I have to extract all of the movie files out of it (they are all in their own separate folders) to grab the data? If so, how will I be able to play the movies from movienizer if they aren't in the original path where the data was extracted from (because I'll be moving the files back to their own separate folders once I get the data in the database)?

Maybe I'm not doing something correctly here but this seems like if I have my files (.avi, .mkv, .vob, etc..) all in separate folders and I do not have the option of selecting that folder on the right to allow Movienizer to scan that folder, that I would have to go into each individual folder and select each movie. Please tell me I'm wrong

Thank you! Looking forward to your responses!

Did you map the hdd of the media player at your PC Win7 end ie "Map Network Drive" which will give you a designated drive eg Drive Z:

Also PC and media player must be connect one of the ethernet ports to a broadband router (normally got 4 ethernet port switch) in order to map the internal drive of the media player.

A network drive is a network share mapped in the system with its own drive letter. If you did not map your shares as network drives, please do so before trying to access them with Movienizer.

Of course, the program can still access network shares, if they are not mapped, but you would need to do files one by one.

If you'd like to be able to play the files, first you need to map your shares as network drives :). Of course, you can connect your drive directly to the computer, add files, then bring the drive back and use the Path changer plugin to correct paths, but it's just more difficult than mapping network drives :).
