I tried updating to the latest version and the installer is giving a "corrupted file" error. Even on the portable version, on unzipping i get CRC failed on a lot of files including movienizer.exe.

You should be able to download the file from CNET.
There is nothing wrong with the file (just checked it to be sure), but you may get a problem when your download is broken by a network problem and the incomplete file is cached either by your browser or by your ISP. This is where you can download the file over and over again and get the same broken one.
