 newbie questions
Hello,
I should like to use the Jef Program Pas, it looks much nicer than the standard interface. However, when I select it (Tools > Options > User Interface > JeF_program.pas) nothing happens. I have tried other interfaces (Maxed and TV Use) and there is no problem here. When I then select the Jef Program Pas it shows the original interface again. What am I doing wrong?
I have two more newbie questions: when I am trying to edit a report I just built, I cannot access it. When I select "Report Builder" it comes up with a blank report form: I have not found an option to call up an existing report.
Secondly, I have about 7.000 persons in my database and none in "collection": how do I transfer from database to collection? I have only found an option to add names manually.
Thanks a lot.

 Re: newbie questions
Hello greydutch, Did you download the latest version of JeF_program.pas ( Standard user interface script with some improvements (v6)) in the right script directory ? Have you unzipped the pictures.zip in the install Movienizer folder ? You should have a folder like [Movienizer install dir]\Pictures\Themes\Indian\img. This feature doesn't exist for now. Just tick 'in collection' in the main update panel (this should be ticked by default : see options) Hope this will help JeF

 Re: newbie questions
Bonjour Jef,
Merci bien. The Jef interface seems to be working now (although the column on the left hand, where collections, movies, persons and search are listed still shows the old typeface (Times New Roman style) which rather disagrees with the well designed panel on the right hand side.
I am not sure what you mean by "the main update panel" (this is where you tell me I should tick "in collection"). Where can I find this panel? All I see is options > script for persons - and they are all ticked.
Thank you for your trouble. I like Movienizer but is is completely new to me.

 Re: newbie questions
Hello greydutch, Yes, after sevreal attemps, left pane is still not 'skined' : seems that the script formatted infos doesn't work for an unknow reason (til now) (i guess maxez encountered the same pb). This the main update window which appears when you press "edit info" link on top of movie main html page. Hope my words are clearer... or... did i miss something in your question ? JeF

 Re: newbie questions
Dear Jef,
Thank you for all your trouble. When I press "edit info" with the "movies" tab on the left activated I just get the option to change general information, description, actors etc. When the "persons" tab is activated I see nothing. Howeber, through some trial and error I found that I click on the rightmost tab and select "show all data" persons are indeed shown. Unfortunately, they are sorted by first names. Too bad that I cannot save this option: when I restart Movienizer the tab is back to "show collection data" again and no persons are shown.
All I really want is to have access to the actors and other people in the database when clicking on "persons" - just like I am seeing all films, when I click on "films". It is not the most important thing in the world but it would be nice if I could get his working.
Thank you again.

 Re: newbie questions
Hello greydutch, So, if i understand well, what you're expecting is to see in left pane ALL the movies and ALL the persons that are in database at Movienizer start ? I think : 1. Movienizer doesn't store your choice of seing all cards or only 'in collection' cards. This is always 'in collection' that is selected at Movienizer start. 2. Cards (people or movies) not in collection have just few datas and are not often interesting to list all time (the full list could become very big in a very short time) so the default choice of 'in collection' is (for me) a good default choice at Movienizer start. 3. The Last button of the Buttons Toolbar makes it easy to toggle between Full/In_Collection views. Once you've toggled it you can select Movie tab or Person tab : you'll have Full list till you toggle back with the same button (you can even toggle just before a search if you want to search in all cards). Hope point 3 will be the answer JeF

 Re: newbie questions
Dear Jef,
Thank you for your detailed explanation. I have understood now, although I would have liked to have full access to the "people" database when starting the programme. Maybe it can be considered to make this an option when doing an update of Movienizer. Also, sorting by last name rathe than by first name would be great. Otherwise, Movienizer is an excellent programme!
Thank you again.
