JeF can you make option for imdb script to download information about Language and Filming Locations.

I think those information can be useful.

Hi downe,

I've added your request to my todo list to have a look at it. But i currently haven't much time (mostly spent on JeF script), so i won't answer before... i really don't know... hopefully, it's in the list... ;)

Hi,

Added some new features to scripts :

Movie script v38 (guest11111 request) :
MPAADefault=''; // MPAA default value when not specified (blank) : could be set to 'NR' for instance

Person script v18 (D.L.K. request for filmo disable) :
ImportDesc=true; DELETED : replaced by DisableImport option (see below)
ImportBio=true; DELETED : replaced by DisableImport option (see below)
DisableImport=''; // List of Data for which Import is Disabled, like 'D,B' :
    D=Desc B=Bio FF:FullFimo (actor, director,...) FA:Filmo_as_Actor FD:Filmo_as_Director FW:Filmo_as_Writer FC:Filmo_as_Composer
NB: At first run, DisableImport option will automatically be set according to deleted options previous value.

(see first post for download)

;)

Hi JC,

Good evening all,

A few suggestions and questions:

1. When downloading a movie from IMDB, if you have set TitleLang to your own country in the .ini file, you recover the title in your own language, but if you download a person, all other titles come in the original language, thus your list of movies for the person is a mix of local language titles (in collection movies) and original titles (out of collection movies).
Would it be possible to download all movies with their local language title?
But maybe there is also an .ini file for persons? Looking into the script, I think there is, but without this option?
Ok, added to my todo list.

2. I disagree with an answer about not downloading the movies that are not in collection : choosing to display only the im-collection movies is only valid for the list of movies, not for the list of movies for a person.
The only way not to download the movies that are not in the collection is to modify the script. An option in the .ini file would be welcome, or even multiple options : download movies as an actor / director / composer...?
Latest version of person script (v18) has this feature : just have a look at previous post ;)

3. I have a few movies that are not in IMDB. How can I create an entry in Movienizer from scratch?
There must be a possibility. Could somebody tell me?
In movie add window, just untick 'download from internet' option under listbox (keep in mind to tick back later...) ;)

4. IMDB now exists in French (I am a beta tester) and possibly other languages (Spanish...).
I would like to have scripts developed for those databases. But maybe changing the site address in the script would do?
I'm afraid this won't be as easy... I've not looked in details but i'm sure that at least some data retrievals are based on english words detection in downloaded pages. Maybe it would be insteresting to build a imdb.fr script in the future but for now, movies like Terminator (1984) don't have their synoptic translated. So, as the fr version of the site is recent, i guess you'll have a lot of movie without a french synoptic. i've however put in my todo list to have a look to that subject, but with lower priority.

;)

Hi,

person script v19 released :
New option TitleLang (like in movie script) to have the filmography movie titles be the local title.
This won't alter already downloaded movie cards (in collection or not).
If you want so, you'll have to delete concerned movie card(s) first.

Is there a way to get all the info off of IMDB persons actor file. Atm it only picks up part of the list.
Hers an example of actor Carol Burnett. The extra info are, what characters and what episode name or number they were in. Movienizer only picks up the first line where the # signs are, it doesn't pick up the lines below that. Also, if you look at the end of Mad about you TV series (below) it shows a link (5 more) if you click that it shows the other 5 episodes she was in on mad about you (she was in 10 episodes).
TV shows where actors do different characters on different episodes like say the Twilight Zone, it will just pick up the first line and character but leave out the rest of the info. Is there a way to make it a download option?

Well, i don't know if it's wise to create such multiple links for a person at movie level (currently, database structure doesn't have 'sublinks' structure to list characters by episode). Anyway, this won't work if you've ticked 'Download only one character per person for every movie' in download tab of main program options window.
Maybe if other users are interessed in i'll look into that later but, sorry, not for now.

Maybe it's the last time i release a v2.2 compliant download script. Please consider upgrading to v3.3, it's worthwhile (and you've currently a chance to get a free license with the facebook contest).
So, you'll find at main topic (The most recent versions of scripts) a modified version (revision 2) of the current imdb movie script v65. This version has been modified to fit Movienizer v2.2.
The script options are now settable by typing '$opt' (without quotes) as a title and press Next button (v3.3 has a 'settings' button for each script).
The settings window is the same as v65 for v3.3 and values are written in the usual options ini file BUT old options will be reset. So just type $opt and set them the new way.
Movienizer 3.x has global download options that are not visible in v2.2 (what a surprise).
However, they are setable in the ini file after you've set options at least once.
The zip file is to be unzippped in usual scripts directory.
The zip file contains a dedicated language file which is a part of v3.3 english language file (options window labels). It's up to you to customize it.
Tested on portable v2.2 and seems ok.
;)
