Post [SOLVED] F-secure blocking Movienizer
Hi
Not sure if this counts as a bug or not. Please move the message to the appropriate forum if necessary.

I have been using Movienizer 2.2 for some time but decided to upgrade to version 3.3. Before downloading and installing it I purchased a license for it. After installing it won't start since F-secure thinks it is unsafe. It is the Deep Guard functionality that blocks it. It collects information from some Real time protection network about unsecure applications. Apparently Movienizer have been black listed there somehow. I really don't believe that Movienizer is unsafe but then why is it black listed? Can you take any action to remove it from the black list? I am sure new users that get this message will uninstall immediately.

Thank you for your report. However, there is not much we can do on our site, the problem has to be reported to F-Secure.

The F-secure problem seem to have disappeared somehow. I'm not sure because I get another error message when I try to start the program. It says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. " Got any idea why i get this message?

This may happen, if your antivirus has removed the executable file of Movienizer (for example). This can be solved by re-installing the program.
Have just scanned the file with VirusTotal, looks like all antivirus tools agree that it's clean.

I disabled the Anti virus program for a while and was able to start the program. It was not removed. Then I activated the anti virus again and now the program starts again. However when I try to fetch movie info a get a Socket error #10013. I read that this can be due to firewall settings. I have set the Firewall to allow Movienizer but still get the error. What else can I do?

This can be caused by your antivirus, too. Sometimes it may also mean that there is some application hanging in the background that causes the problem, a restart helps in such cases. Please try restarting, disabling your antivirus and running the program - will it show the socket error message?
