Post Slow Imports
Importing movie information from IMDB, using the default scripts takes about 15 seconds per movie. I have a 7Mbps broadband connection and the same import only takes about 1-2 seconds when I use EMDB. Is this a general problem with Movienizer, or do I have a problem with my settings?

The problem is that Movienizer generally imports more information than other movie organizers. :) It also uses plain-text scripts that should be compiled before they can be executed. The latter allows the user to add more scripts without any additional tool ;)

Post Re: Slow Imports
This is still surprising to me. Running an interpreted script should not increase the amount of time it takes to make a few HTTP requests by a factor of 10, or by 12 seconds. I realize that Movienizer downloads one, or two more kBytes of data and that it makes 3 additional requests to retrieve extra images, but, given the bandwidth and latency of my Internet connection, this should only add a second, or two. Also, initial lookups take about 5 seconds, while they take a small fraction of a second with EMDB.

Please do not take me wrong. I really like Movienizer and think that it is a superior product. I just wish there was a faster way to import my collection of 700, or so movies.
