How to play DVD out of a folder
Hi, I'm a newby out of Holland and I have a question. I'm using a Dune HD player (lite, no harddisk inside) and for some reason I cannot play a dvd-movie out of a folder on my server. Path to server is as follow \\server\dvd\movie. In use with AVI or other extensions it works like a charm. The DVD folder has the normal sub-directories, i.e. video_ts and audio_ts.
Maybe this matter is/was already discussed on this board, however with the search option I could not find an answer.
Also, another question, my Dune is not playing MP4 movies, should I bring it back and ask for a new one?
Thanks for reading and your help. Fred

Re: How to play DVD out of a folder
Currently your questions look like they are about Dune, not about Movienizer . Could you please provide more details that would help us pinpoint the problem? Is it the catalog created by Movienizer that you have the problem with, or does your Dune fail to play the files and folders generally? Please note that MP4 files can be protected. Such files can be played on a limited number of devices (for example, only on the computer that was used to purchase the files).

Re: How to play DVD out of a folder
Hi Vlad,
MP4 is solved, was just a question with nothing to do with your software.
The DVD question: How I use the soft/hardware: - I have created a catalog with all movies in 1 map. - lot's of movies (AVI, MKV etc.) on a separate drive, each in there own map - lot's of DVD's also on a separate drive, also each of them in their own maps with the structure video_ts/audio_ts
When I browse with my Dune to the dvd maps I can play each movie without a problem, when I use the created catalog I receive the notification "url not found" with the correct url to my network drive (SMB) //freecom/dvd/movie_title/.
Will this help to clarify the problem? Best regards, Fred

Re: How to play DVD out of a folder
Could you please send us a screenshot of the "Editions" tab for a DVD movie from your Movienizer database, or just copy the complete path from the "Filename" field on the tab? This is the tab (although the screenshot is somewhat outdated, now it looks a bit different ):

Re: How to play DVD out of a folder
It looks like the Dune catalog created by the program and your DVD folders are stored on the same network resource. In this situation, Dune has some difficulties playing files, as it tries to open one connection for working with the catalog, another one for accessing the DVD folder, and yet another one to play the files. However, it fails trying to open the third connection. Please try saving your catalog to a USB stick and plug it directly into Dune, then try working with the catalog and check if your files and DVDs are played.
