Post Ability to choose or easily change the cover photo
I have DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu-Rays in my collection and have some titles in multiple formats. Even without having them in multiple formats I would like to be presented with multiple cover photos, from which I could select the one I want stored for a given movie record. For example, The Bourne Identity is available in regular DVD/widescreen, regular DVD/widescreen collector's edition and HD DVD, and the covers are different for each.

So I would like to either get to choose from all available cover photos, or ideally, let me include "HD DVD" and "Blu-Ray" in the title, and have your application get the correct photo. As it is now, I see no way (certainly no easy way) to change the photo, even though I can copy the photo and/or link to the photo from Amazon, etc. Your app doesn't allow me to paste the new photo or edit the location.

Thanks.

There are two ways of getting correct covers.
1. Use dvdempire script. It is more format oriented.
2. Download covers manually and add them to the images. To set an image as the main cover, open "Edit info" - "Pictures"-tab, select "Front cover" for your image. All images that are listed before it specify as "User image" or whatever.

Very good, maybe you can add this to your FAQs--most others apparently default to dvdempire. For some reason dvdempire is downloading the dvd cover photo twice, then the back cover, and no other photos. I really do like your application, I think it does all I need and then some--great job, and thanks!

We simply never realized that the right cover art is that important :). There's a "Format" field where you can choose what kind of disc you have.

Lol, I know about the format field, but since the cover photos are prominently included on the display and reports, the correct one should be included in the database. Some movies have 5+ different packages with different covers. And having many HD DVDs and Blu-Rays in my collection the cover photos make it easy to tell the format by the color of the cover.

#2 above is doable but I'm not able to paste the cover photo's url when editing the info, so it would need to be input manually. Is there a simple way to enable pasting in the photo's url field?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, pasting is not supported yet. We can see room for several improvements in the "Edit info" window, but they simply require time to implement :).
