An easy 5 star movie (5/5) - A tour de force by actor Kevin Bacon, who won an Emmy for his performance. This simple, yet very moving true story is about a Marine Colonel Michael Strobl, played by Bacon, taking the body of Lance Corporal Chance Phelps back to his loved ones for burial after being killed by enemy fire in Iraq. This is by no means an anti-war or pro-war film, but rather a study in Colonel Strobl's struggle in feeling that he didn't "go to war" and felt he had to do something to show his commitment to his fellow soldiers and also a film about the little known procedures and honors afforded an American hero on his trip home. There is no action, violence or nudity in this wonderful film, just raw emotion. You had best watch this with a box of Kleenex on hand, because you will need it. After my 17 year old daughter watched this film, she was so moved that she found Chance's mother on Facebook and wrote her a note expressing how proud she was of Chance and how proud she knows her mom was. His mom replied. Watch this HBO film, it will change you!!!
