7.5/10 I'm a big fan of all Marvel comic characters, and enjoy most of the films. This prequel to the other X-Men movies explains the relationship between Prof. X and Magneto, and how the X-Men were formed. This film is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass) and unfortunately he is not up to the Bryan Singer standard of the first two X-Men movies. The special effects were just OK and the acting, ho-hum. Story introduced some new X-Men, but no one who can grab the screen like Wolverine or Jane Grey. James McAvoy as a young Prof. X is not bad, but not as good as Patrick Stewart. Kevin Bacon as the Nazi who discovers Magneto's powers and the villain of the film is just not that interesting. All in all, I enjoyed it, but could have waited for the rental.
Opinions about movies, reviews.
