My Week With Marilyn (2011) stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn and Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark. Colin is a young film buff who scores the producer's 3rd assistant job on The Prince and the Show Girl, shot in England. Colin, of course, briefly falls for Marilyn, stunningly portrayed by Michelle Williams. Williams takes on Marilyn's full personality, with mood swings and unforgettable disarming smiles. The set and costume design are ingenious as well.
The film, based on books and personal notes written by Colin Clark, was actually shot in the same house that Marilyn Monroe had stayed when shooting The Prince and the Show Girl. Rumor has it, the house and her room were untouched until the very production of My Week With Marilyn and so are very authentic.
My Week With Marilyn is, no doubt, a chick-flick but Michelle Williams' flawless acting and portrayal of Marilyn would satisfy even the grimiest action-buff.
